OK, let me qualify my score with a small anecdote regarding this movie. For some reason, a friend of mine and I decided to "rent" this movie in the hotel room while in Vegas (we had to take a breather from the night before). Anyway, as the movie progressed, my friend eventually fell asleep and I vigilantly finished viewing this piece of crap. Afterward, I lamented to my friend how awful this movie really was and even he, having slept through around 2/3 of this movie knew, commenting "Yeah, you didn't wake me up from laughing." Do not see this movie. It is of the same line of films as the "Scary Movie" and other such dreck. At least the "Scary Movie" franchise scores a few laughs now and again. THIS MOVIE IS NOT FUNNY AT ALL! All those involved with this turd gallivanting as a film should hang their heads in shame, move to the Himalayas, join the Buddhist monks and try to atone for their sins!

There's no foul play, no foul language, not too many witty remarks, just a bunch of soft and mushy love/romance blah-blah. Still I just loved this film. Not that a film needs foul language to survive by my standards, but that's more of an American way of portraying the afro-American comedy actress of today. Queen Latifa does an excellent job in making her character a respectable average person that's just waiting for that little extra that makes life worth living. This film had that little extra that makes those 90 minutes worth while. It was deep in the most reflecting manner. I loved it. Who needs enlightenment when there are films like this?

Bridge to Terebithia is more of a movie for adults. It's slowing moving and from what I've seen, kids like fast, action-filled movies which "Bridge" isn't. I read the book when I was in 4th grade, and loved it. When I went to see the movie, I expected it to be unfaithful to the book, from the trailer, but it's not. it's pretty much exactly like the book. There are no magical journeys or fantastic kingdoms, only the pure power of imagination and hope mixed together for a tragic yet heartwarmingly beautiful story. Yeah, ugh. A kid would have more fun watching an old movie than this. (No intention to mean that old movies are boring, I love them!) Even I didn't like it. The movie made everything seem more sugary-sweetish and modern, which the book wasn't. The book is much better, in my opinion. Read the book and watch the movie and compare for yourself.

Usually, i am pretty forgiving when it comes to rating movies, but this movie deserves no forgiveness. This movie is utter nonsense. Like most other baseball movies, it does cover the idea of never giving up no matter how bleak the odds look, but unlike other baseball movies, the message just does not ring true. The message about not giving up is not a constant during the movie, and is instead replaced with slapstick comedy, and booger and fart jokes. This movie could have been very funny, but instead, fails at delivering time and again. The animation is fairly decent, and it is a clever idea for a story, but in the end, every part of this movie falls thru. All in all, not even a good movie for "just the kids". Oh, and if you are a Chicago Cubs fan (which I am, seeing as that I am from the windy city) there is a TON of slandering in this movie, making the Cubs out to be cheaters, thieves, and idiots. If you are a Cubs fan, STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. This movie will just make you mad.

If anyone truly remembers the Dukes of Hazzard TV show from the late 70's and early 80's, this review will ring true with them. The TV show was about good wholesome entertainment for the entire family, with nary a swear word. This movie was clearly made to cater to teeny boppers and idiotic adults with nothing better to do than watch pointless junk on the television. This has nothing to do with the 'beginnings' of the Dukes. It is set in modern day times, with horrible casting and a misuse of Willie Nelson. In the original show, Boss and Jesse Duke were moonshiners from the '20s. By this standard, they would be moonshiners from the mid-80's. Give me a break. Please don't waste your time! And Warner Brothers, please stop using the Dukes in your craptastic films! Let them rest in peace!
