Somewhere between adaptation and shooting, the magic leaped out of this film. The synopsis looked promising and it could have delivered, but it seems that poor casting choices and spotty dialog made it fall short. The leading man isn't quite convincing on film. His technique feels more fit for stage, but when on screen you see an actor and not a character. Famke Janssen and Ian Holm are the two bright spots in the nigh hour-and-a-half feature. Holm was the one actor who garnered a laugh. But they both seem out of place, heavy hitters in a smaller film. It could be that a bigger star was set to play Chris, but dropped out, leaving the film with less studio support while Famke and Ian stayed on. This film has gone on to win some festival awards, which makes me wonder if I missed something, or was simply not in the right mood for the film. Nevertheless, it could have been much, much better.

I was most interested in watching this documentary as i find the subject fascinating: the industry of war presented as it really is, a business opportunity. But i was rather disappointed with the film itself. Even though the content was OK, the way it was presented was disconnected and superficial. The way the stories (or "cases" should i say) are glued together is rather abrupt and takes the viewer from personal stories that simply don't cut it to more "cold facts" interviews that are a real downer. So, the film never takes off emotionally and never really touched me in any manner. It was just interesting to hear some free hand experiences about the corruption that permeates all these companies making big bucks in Iraq… but not a doc i would recommend to everyone.

Wow!!! what an experience to see this amazing film by with just me and my girlfriend in the theater. I loved this film from start to finish, let me say that Nathan Baesel is amazing and I will now follow him for the rest of his career. I just am so pleased how this film gets "it" when it comes to horror film dynamics. This film plays with the horror film conventions while being incredibly ironic by featuring one of the worst offenders of tasteless horror (Robert Englund) all the while blowing my mind and raising the bar for every horror film to come after this. This motion picture is funny, smart, witty, and even scary (not as scary as it could've been)but I don't think it supposed to be a fright-fest. Anyway 10/10 a true gift for horror fans, and I mean real horror fans. If you like SAW, or Turistas, or Grindhouse (I already know it will suck), or any of that other crap then you should screw yourself and you don't deserve to see this film. To all the real horror films out there, this one is for you!

i thought the movie was really good and very well done. the jokes were funny and fresh and zach braff is great in comedic situations. amanda peet did really well too with her character's stay at home issues and the whole cast really made this movie awesome. for those of you who are worried that it would be offensive to handicapped people- don't worry. there aren't any rude remarks and if anything it shows that people in wheelchairs have a lot more to them than the disability. jason batemen's character is a villain for obvious reasons which have nothing to do with disabled people. it's easy to hate him for who he is and zach braff's character deals with the same split emotions that many people have about this film. i recommend it entirely and i don't think you will be disappointed!

As a huge fan of this book, I applaud Nic, Scott and the production team involved in getting this movie off the ground. This story must not have been easy to get made. But this is the most important movie of today, for today. I did find the musical cues to be overly used and not as dramatic as they could've been, but aside from this I was at the edge of my seat, waiting for NIc to add some wisdom to my life, so that I can go out there and be a better person. Nic, as the character of Soc does just that. The movie delivers where it should, straight to your heart. In this day of the much necessary age of awareness I HIGHLY recommend anyone who wants to be better and even be the best they can be to go and watch this film, recommend this film, watch it again, buy it on DVD and support these types of projects in any way you can. Imagine if we can get the kids of today to truly understand the lessons presented in this movie - it could change the world and the medium of film reaches enough people to do just that.
